For the past five years I have been working at Bow Valley College, in Academic Innovation and Applied Research as a Media Developer. I work closely with Subject Matter Experts and Instructional Designers to create and develop engaging learning objects for online courses and supplemental materials.
My position gives me the fortune and opportunity to work with a variety of individuals from many different schools and departments, and deliver an array of materials spanning many different subjects.
Here are some examples of some of the projects I have worked on recently.

This is a video I created with Bow Valley College to inform instructors how best to work with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Interpreters both in and out of their classroom.

WriteForward - Let's Talk About Writing
Directions For Immigrants
This was a project I did for Bow Valley College's Directions For Immigrants department. The department helps coach new Canadians in networking and finding work in their field. The goal of the project was to help explain the roles of the department's Career Coaches, and to help professionals network and find work in their field.
My roles in this project included collaborating with script development, Audio recording, mixing and mastering, all art and animation, as well as editing.
How can a Career Coach help me?
This particular video was created as a marketing piece, to be used during the department's presentations with new and potential clients. The goal of the video is to explain the role of a Career Coach, and how they can help an individual network and find work in their field.
Become A Better Job Seeker
This video was used as an email blast as a reminder for the department's various workshops. The video is meant to be simple and fun, turning something scary like a business connections workshop into a fun and engaging activity.
TEDx Bow Valley College
For the past 3 years, Bow Valley College has hosted multiple TEDx conferences, with plans for a fourth this coming fall.
These are a few examples of the multiple speakers from last year's TEDx session. Our media team worked very closely with the college's Intercultural Centre to bring these visions to life.
My roles in these projects include Director, Lighting, Camera operation, Audio mixing and mastering, Editing, and in past years has also included Sound Engineer.
Pulling back the curtain | Jehad Abu-Ulbeh
Jehad Abu-Ulbeh is a familiar face at Bow Valley College, and has left a lasting impression with our campus community. Jehad has never been afraid to think differently, or to act differently, and no doubt her talk today will reflect the same. As you will see today, her talk exemplifies the power in being divergent, and the fruit that it can bear.
Technological obscurantism | Rick Alvarez
Rick Alvarez is a student that is on the up and coming. As a second year student, Rick’s leadership and self-motivation is reflected in the myriad of ways that he has engaged with the College. Rick proposes not only a reassessment of the ideas that we have about our lives, but goes one step further, to let us know what to do about it.
Chasing Ice | Miguel Barros
Miguel Barros is an Angolan-Portuguese artist that first connected to our College community through an ELL conversation club that takes place in our library. Miguel’s approach to thinking as an outlier, surrounds the fundamental concept that evolution and change can only occur when thinking creatively. Miguel’s global travels and interactions illustrate that while change can start with one of us, it ultimately requires all of us.
This is a video I created for Calgary-based rock band, Open Air. The video was created for the band's first single off 2015 release Lessons From The Crow, entitled "Creatures".
The lyrical content of the song discusses the social-economical nature of humans, and how greed can play a detrimental role. The video reflects these lyrics by having the band members pitted against each other in a poker-style game of Monopoly, representing the lyrics through light-hearted parody.
My roles in this project included Writing and Direction, some camera work, and Video Editing.
